As tensions simmer in Europe the risk of state-sponsored cyberattacks remains high. In response, countries are formulating their own plans to defend against threats, which includes a warning to financial institutions. Critical infrastructure is a major target of concern with agencies taking precautions as the issue escalates. NATO countries are preparing for the worst. They will be using everything within their arsenal to identify, defend, and respond should an attack take place.

In 2018, the global cybersecurity market reached $152 billion, up from $137 billion in 2017, according to Statista. Now, the research firm MarketsandMarkets predicts the market will grow to $248 billion in 2023, representing a compounded annual growth rate of 10.2 percent.

The biggest leap forward will be in the encryption segment.
