Cyber Threats

As tensions simmer in Europe the risk of state-sponsored cyberattacks remains high. In response, countries are formulating their own plans to defend against threats, which includes a warning to financial institutions. Critical infrastructure is a major target of concern with agencies taking precautions as the issue escalates. NATO countries are preparing for the worst. They will be using everything within their arsenal to identify, defend, and respond should an attack take place.

About Wayne Schepens

Strategic Consultant Wayne Schepens has worked with WayneWright Consulting LLC since 2006. In this role, he helps software companies compose strategies for product development, as well as marketing and operational improvements. Wayne Schepens utilizes intensive analysis, reporting, and studies to back up his work, following products from their earliest development through to their retail stages.

In addition to his role as a consultant, Mr. Schepens serves as an Adjunct Faculty Member with the University of Syracuse and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. He also works with the Army Science Board as a Special Study Member for Knowledge Management Study. Wayne Schepens maintains membership with the IEEE Information Assurance Task Force and the New York Electronic Crimes Task Force. At the former institution, he sat on the Administrative Committee for four years.

Holding a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the State University of New York Maritime Academy and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Virginia Technical University, Wayne Schepens further his education with a Professional Engineers License and a U.S. Coast Guard Certified 3rd Assistant Engineer’s License. During his formal education, Mr. Schepens established connections with the Upsilon Pi Epsilon National Computer Honor Society.

During his free time, Mr. Schepens enjoys coaching sports and swimming, skiing, playing baseball, and mountain biking. He also contributes to the Junior League of Annapolis, American Heart Association, and Southern Shores and Altoona fire departments in his home state of Maryland. A dedicated member of his parish, Wayne Schepens participates in the Teach Faith Formation and supports the Lady of the Fields Catholic Church.
